Penhold gas station thief caught hiding in roof

Try as he might, there was no escape for a gas station robber in Penhold over the long weekend.

Innisfail RCMP say they were called to an alarm at the Fas Gas in Penhold at around 2 a.m. Monday.

Mounties arrived and searched the property, but found no external damage or sign of entry into the building.

The store manager arrived about an hour later to check the business. He noted some damage inside and called the RCMP to return. 

When they entered the building, police heard noise coming from the roof and looked up to find 21-year-old Jordan Bell-Blowers of Lacombe.

Bell-Blowers was arrested and charged with break and enter, mischief over $5,000, possession of break-in tools, and breach of recognizance. He is remanded and scheduled to appear in Red Deer court March 6.
