Three more flu-related deaths in Central Zone

Three more Central Albertans have died over the past week as a result of influenza, according to the latest numbers from Alberta Health Services.

That brings the total number of flu-related deaths in our zone this season to 14.

Province-wide, 65 people have passed away from flu-related causes, already surpassing last year’s season total of 64.

AHS says over 1.2 million doses of the influenza vaccine have been administered this year, including 108,437 in Central Zone.

More than 2300 Albertans have been admitted to hospital because of influenza, 242 in Central Zone.
