Drayton Valley’s 2nd seasonal parking ban remains in effect

Feb 6, 2018 | 6:54 AM

Drayton Valley’s second seasonal parking ban of the winter remains in effect Tuesday morning.  The ban is in response to recent snowfall over the weekend.

Town crews have been out since Sunday morning clearing priority routes before another 5-10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall later this week.

As of 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, six tickets had been handed out and no vehicles had been towed for being parked on a seasonal parking ban route.

Work is anticipated to last a couple of days in the following areas;

· Downtown

· 43rd Ave (43rd Street to Ring Road)

·43rd St (43rd Ave to 55th Ave)

· 55th Ave (43rd Street to 50th Street)

· 55th Ave (43rd Street to Aurora School)

· Beckett Rd.

· 54th Street (Industrial Rd to 45th Ave)

· 45th Ave (54th Street to 50th Street)

For your safety and the safety of town workers it’s suggested you obey all signage and use caution around equipment and crews.

The town says if further snow accumulations warrant, crews will be directed to begin clearing the seasonal parking ban and priority routes first. Once those areas have been cleared, crews will begin neighbourhood blading.
