County of Stettler CAO stepping down

Feb 2, 2018 | 1:20 PM

The Chief Administrative Officer for the County of Stettler has announced he is stepping down.

In a letter to staff and council this week and only a month short of his 13th anniversary with the County, Tim Fox says his decision to leave is entirely of his own making.

“The time is simply right for me to, at least temporarily, set down my pen and computer and put on my boots and work on my next chapter.”

Assistant CAO Yvette Cassidy says in a release, “Tim is a soft-spoken, approachable leader who always looked for the win-win. He encouraged his employees to be their best and always looked for the solution not the blame. He is a true visionary and served this County with passion, dedication and quiet authority for the past 13 years. I speak on behalf of staff and myself when I say he will be dearly missed.”

County of Stettler Reeve Larry Clarke says in the same release that council respects his decision after 13 years of service.

“We wish Tim and his family all the best in his new chapter in life and look forward to continuing to work with the excellent administration and staff going forward as they continue day-to-day operations and projects.”

Fox, a native of Saskatchewan, is an avid curler, hunter and motorcycle enthusiast. Among his many accomplishments as CAO for the County of Stettler, some of his highlights include implementation of Environmental Services in the County and being a key member in establishing the Shirley McClellan Regional Water Services Commission which he managed since its inception.

Others include helping to implement Stettler Regional Fire Department encompassing all areas and municipalities within the County of Stettler and Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service.
