CLARESHOLM-  A town councillor in Claresholm, who says she was attacked and beaten during a home invasion last month has filed a human rights complaint against the town.

The complaint from Donna Courage was made public last night during a special meeting at the town’s office, but details have not been released.

Courage, who has been advocating for better government accountability and transparency since taking office last October, had to be treated at hospital after the attack.

The councillor said after the assault that she was thinking of resigning, but changed her mind after receiving overwhelming support.
