Ponoka has been named one of the top places to visit in 2018 by an Expedia.ca travel poll of 1,000 Canadians.

The poll asked respondents which destination they most recommend that fellow travellers visit this year.

Among the 18 locations listed, Ponoka was named a must-visit destination alongside travel hot spots such as Cape Breton, Prince Edward Island, Hawaii, and Tokyo, Japan.

The poll identifies the Ponoka Stampede as a ‘Just do it’ key attraction that visitors should not miss.

A stop at the Wolf Creek Golf Resort and Siding 14 Brewing Company are also recommended.

Siding 14 was the original name given to Ponoka back in 1891 when the railway first arrived.
