Rebels, Warriors swap defencemen

The Red Deer Rebels and Moose Jaw Warriors have swapped 19-year-old defencemen.

The Rebels acquired 19-year-old defenceman Colin Paradis and second round selections in the 2019 and 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft on Friday in exchange for 19-year-old defenceman Brandon Schuldhaus and a fourth round selection in 2020.

Paradis, who is from Sherwood Park, is in his third full season in the WHL, he’s played 165 games, scoring 1 goal and 17 assists for 18 points. He was a 4th round pick of the Warriors in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Schuldhaus appeared in 37 games this season, his second with the Rebels, and had 12 assists. The Houston, Texas native joined the Rebels midway through the 2016-17 season from the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The WHL Trade Deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 10.
