Red Deer Optimist Chiefs advance to Mac's Tournament final

The Red Deer Optimist Chiefs are off to the Mac’s Midget AAA World Invitational Hockey Tournament final.

This after the Chiefs defeated the St. Albert Raiders 1-0 in semi-final action at the Max Bell Centre Sunday afternoon.

The Chiefs will play the Regina Pat Canadians who defeated the New York Jr. Islanders 2-1 in the other semi-final Sunday evening.

The final will take place Monday, January 1 starting at 4 p.m. at the ScotiaBank Saddledome.

The Mac’s Midget AAA World Invitational Hockey Tournament runs from December 26 – January 1 and features 25 of the best Midget AAA male and eight of the best female Midget AAA hockey teams from across Canada, the United States and Europe.
