The Red Deer and Lacombe Chambers of Commerce are teaming up in the New Year to help local businesses prepare for the planned legalization of marijuana next summer.

‘Marijuana in the workplace – What you need to know’ will be held January 17, 2018 from 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Winspear Ballroom at the Radisson Hotel in Red Deer.

The guest speaker will be Kristi Pinkney – Hines RN, BSCN and OHN Founder and Director.

Pinkney – Hines is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta and an Occupational Health Nurse Graduate from St. Lawrence College in Brockville, Ontario.

She is an active member of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce and founded Hines Health Services in 2012, described as a leader in occupational health and workplace safety and widely-known across Canada.

The event comes in advance of Bill C-45 which comes into effect in July of next year. It aims to legalize and regulate marijuana-use in Canada and hopefully take money out of the hands of organized crime while making it harder for kids to access.
