Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate pedestrian fatality

WETASKIWIN- RCMP responded to a pedestrian fatality on Highway 2A, south of Wetaskiwin late Tuesday night.

At 11:45 p.m., a 32-year-old man was walking on Highway 2A when he was struck by a southbound van. 

The man died at the scene.

The driver of the van made an effort to avoid the collision, and the van ended up in the northbound ditch.

The occupants of the vehicle were not hurt.

No name has been released.

Wetaskiwin Victim Services has assisted the families involved in the incident.
