The Mountain Rose Women's Shelter received their basket donations from Jason Nixon's office Tuesday.

The partnership is geared to help 10 different women during the holiday season.

"A lot of the times when women flee domestic violence they leave with nothing" said Cindy Easton, Executive Director for the Mountain Rose Women Shelter.

The 10 baskets contained many different items like clothes, chocolates and makeup that were all donations from members of the public.

Easton adds that they are so grateful that Jason Nixon's office puts these baskets together for these women who need it most every year.

"The Baskets of Hope actually give the single ladies a reason to get up Christmas morning, they get gifts and its really making them feel that they are not forgotten."

This is the third year that the initiative has been around.
