Three members of the Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services were honored with a medal reserved for emergency services personnel at Drayton Valley Town Council Wednesday morning.

At their regularly scheduled meeting, council was joined by MLA for Drayton Valley-Devon Mark Smith to award the three Alberta Emergency Services Medal's (AESM.)

Fire Chief Tom Thomson and firefighter Murray Frank received an AESM Bar with bronze rosette, signifying 22 years of service.

Lieutenant Kent Fuson received an AESM Bar for his 12 years of service.

The certificate does not reflect the total years of service the recipient may have within their qualifying emergency services discipline. It is awarded based on twelve, twenty-two, thirty-two or forty years of service.
