A 40-year-old man is in life-threatening condition following a crash Monday morning near Caroline.

RCMP say around 6:20, they and Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 54 at Range Road 6-2, just west of Caroline.

The driver of the car was seriously injured and flown by STARS to a nearby hospital.

The 50-year-old driver of a logging truck was treated and released on scene.

Initial investigation indicates the car crossed into the oncoming lane and the logging truck was forced to evade, police say.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP continue to investigate. Speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors.

More details will be provided when they become available.
