Another year is in the books for 100 Men Red Deer.

Like their counterparts with 100 Women, 100 Men wrapped up their third year this week by committing funds to the Red Deer Christmas Bureau.

President Dan Sims says the timing was perfect to support the bureau.

“With Christmas coming up, people always want to see that other families are given the same opportunities that they have with their families,” Sims says. “It hits home for a lot of people.”

With the contribution of around $7000-$8000, 100 Men Red Deer surpasses the $100,000 mark during their three-year history.

Sims believes the amount has had a great impact on the community.

“One-hundred thousand dollars going into the community from just a few guys getting together every now and then, having a beer, networking, learning about charities, it’s a great thing,” he says.

The next meeting for 100 Men Red Deer is on March 5, 2018.
