Bottcher, DeJong claim titles at Red Deer Curling Classic

Alberta’a reigning men’s provincial curling champions cruised to victory in the final of the 2017 Red Deer Curling Classic.
Brendan Bottcher defeated Ted Appleman 6-2 in the men’s championship final Monday afternoon at the Pidherney Centre.
Bottcher and his Edmonton-based team of third Mick Lizmore, second Brad Thiessen and lead Karrick Martin punched their ticket to the final with a 6-1 win over Colton Flasch in the semi’s.
On the women’s side, Delia DeJong of Grande Prairie took the title with a 4-2 win over Salsuki Fujisawa of Japan.
