Red Deer man charged after RCMP vehicle rammed by stolen truck

Nov 9, 2017 | 11:29 AM

A Red Deer man is facing charges after an RCMP vehicle was rammed with a stolen truck.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious truck diving erratically on Ross Street and on one rim.

The truck was located just over an hour later near a walking path under the 67 Street bridge. Once the police vehicle had its lights activated, a member approached the truck when it suddenly reversed and rammed the front of the police SUV.

Several members responded and assisted in arresting the man. No one was injured, including the police dog who was on site.
