RDC announces Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week

Red Deer College Athletics is proud to announce our Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week.

1. Maya ParkerQueens Basketball
Hometown – Calgary, AB
Bachelor of Science Nursing (4th year)

On a two game road trip, Maya Parker was one of the leaders for the RDC Queens. Parker worked hard and played with energy in both weekend games. The Bachelor of Science Nursing student recorded 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal and 2 assists in the Queens’ 54-51 road victory against the Briercrest College Clippers this past Friday. The guard from Calgary totaled 7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block and 2 steals in a loss to the Medicine Hat College Rattlers on Saturday. The fourth-year student-athlete was strong defensively all weekend and all 11 of her rebounds were on the defensive side.

2. Omon Edobar – Kings Basketball
Hometown – Calgary, Alberta
Academic Upgrading (1st year)

Omon Edobar had a fantastic weekend on the court for the RDC Kings Basketball team. In Saskatchewan, Edobar picked up 11 points, 1 block, 1 steal, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in a convincing 120 – 70 win over the Briercrest College Clippers on Friday. Despite the Kings dropping their game in Medicine Hat on Saturday, the first-year guard from Calgary contributed 24 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds. Over the two weekend games, Edobar went 9-for-12 from the free throw line.
