Queens and Burnt Lake businesses to hold another community meeting on crime

Businesses in the Queens and Burnt Lake areas west of the QEII are banding together to once again bring attention to what they say is an escalating crime problem.

On Wednesday, November 15, a public meeting is being held at the Manufacturers’ Health and Safety Association offices at 54 Queensland Crescent from 7 to 9 a.m.

Organizer Suzy Dietrich, who manages a business in the area, says the meeting is being held because yards, vehicles and shops continue to be broken into and many businesses are attempting to combat these issues alone.

“We are a community and together we will have a much louder voice,” she says in an invitation to the event. “My hope is that we can all get more protection, more security and get to know our neighbours to save money and create a force against what is happening around Red Deer!”
