UCP leadership candidate Kenney in Red Deer Monday night

United Conservative Party Leadership hopeful Jason Kenney is stopping in Red Deer Monday night to host one of three town hall style meetings this week leading up to the party’s leadership vote October 28.

The town hall meeting will be at the Harvest Centre in Westerner Park starting at 7:00 p.m. with speeches and a Q & A to follow.

Kenney will host two other town hall meetings as well in Edmonton on Tuesday night and Calgary Wednesday evening.

UCP leadership candidate Doug Schweitzer will also be in Red Deer Monday, stopping by City Hall Park at 2:00 p.m. to meet with media and local supporters.

Brian Jean is the third candidate running to be the UCP’s inaugural leader.

UCP party members can begin voting for their leader of choice on Thursday, October 26 starting at 9:00 a.m. either by phone or online, with voting to close at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.

Results of the Leadership Election will be announced shortly after voting closes at the Metropolitan Centre in Calgary.
