Central Alberta September home sales down over last year

RED DEER- Residential sales reported through the Central Alberta Realtors Association numbered 343 units in September.

That was a decline of 7% from September of 2016.

On a year-to-date basis, home sales total 3,050 units over the first three quarters of the year.

That is down 1.3% from the same period last year.

New residential listings numbered 751 units, down 11% from September 2016.

The dollar value of all home sales was $103.7 million, down 9.8% from a year ago.

Sales of all types of properties totalled 367 units.

That is down 6.1% from 2016.

The total value of all property sales amounted to $117.6 million, down 8.5% compared to a year ago.
