Hockey stars Kikuchi, Pastachak named RDC Athletes of the Week

Red Deer College Athletics has announced their latest Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week.

Tracie Kikuchi – Queens Hockey
Hometown – Edmonton, AB
Kinesiology & Sport Studies (3rd year)

Kikuchi was outstanding for the RDC Queens this past weekend. The goaltender stopped 41-of-44 shots on Thursday in a shootout loss to the MacEwan University Griffins. The Kinesiology & Sport Studies student was named the player-of-the-game for RDC.

On Friday in Edmonton, Kikuchi was strong once again and she turned aside 29-of-31 Griffins shots in a 2-1 loss.

Over two games, Kikuchi stopped 70-of-75 shots which earned her a solid 0.933 save percentage.

Lynnden Pastachak – Kings Hockey
Hometown – Bienfait, Saskatchewan
Open Studies (1st year)

First-year forward Lynnden Pastachak contributed one assist and helped the Red Deer College Kings defeat the Concordia University Thunder 5-2 last Friday.

On Saturday, the Open Studies student from Bienfait, Saskatchewan scored in overtime, added an assist, was named the Kings player-of-the-game in the Kings’ 3-2 win over Concordia.
