Police have named the man killed in a gas and dash incident that occurred at a Fas Gas station in Thorsby on Friday.

Ki Yun Jo, 54, was the owner of the gas station, according to an RCMP release.

Police say a medium-sized white commercial cube van sped away from the Fas Gas station without paying for fuel when the fatality occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

As the vehicle was leaving, police say Yun Jo was hit while trying to get the driver's attention.

The van stolen from the Spruce Grove Thursday afternoon, according to RCMP, before driving to Thorsby and has yet to be located. It has "Middleton Flooring Ltd." written on its front and side.

Anyone who may have observed the suspect vehicle in Spruce Grove during this time is encouraged to call Thorsby/Bretton RCMP at 780-789-3951, Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or visit www.tipsubmit.com.
