Red Deer building permit values were up in September, but yearly totals continue to lag well behind 2016.

In September, permit values were worth more than $13.1 million, compared to $7.2 million in September of last year.

One notable project which boosted last month’s numbers was a permit for a new five-storey apartment building downtown across from the spray park. That permit’s worth is $6 million.

Year-to-date, 956 permits have been issued, compared to 829 to this point in 2016.

Permits issued in 2017 are valued at $97.1 million, just over than $100 million less than last year.
