The Red Deer Rebels have announced a trio of cuts bringing the current roster to 26 players.

Head Coach and GM Brent Sutter said Tuesday that Zak Smith (2001 - Austin, MB), River Fahey (2001 - Campbell River, BC) and Blake Sydlowski (2001 - St. Albert, AB) have all been reassigned.

In four preseason games, Fahey scored three times and took one minor penalty.

Zak Smith recorded two assists in three preseason matchups.

Save for a two minute minor, Blake Sydlowski failed to etch his name on the official scoresheet in three games this preseason.

Next action for the Rebels is Saturday at home to Medicine Hat in what is their final test before the regular season begins September 23. Puck drop this Saturday is at 7 p.m.
