The gift of Disney was chosen at the latest meeting of 100 Men Red Deer.

On Monday, members selected Dreams Take Flight, a charity which grants trips to young kids to go to Disneyland together, as their latest charitable donation recipient.

100 Men President Dan Sims says it was a very close vote between Dreams Take Flight, MS Society of Central Alberta and the Waskasoo Environmental and Protection Society of Red Deer.

"Part of it is any time something involves kids, it tears at the hearstrings," Sims said. "Just to be able to grant some wishes to young up-and-comers is a wonderful thing. I think that's what gets a lot of people."

The more than $5,000 is expected to send at least six kids from central Alberta to the happiest place on Earth.

Bre Fitzpatrick with Red Deer College Alumni announced at the quarterly meeting that 100 Men Red Deer would be getting an honourary stone on the Legacy Walkway at the new Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

In March, 100 Men made a contribution to the RDC Foundation's student Emergency Bursary Fund.

100 Women Red Deer meet next on September 25 and 100 Men again on December 4.
