Judo Club celebrates new home

Sep 8, 2017 | 9:29 AM

The Red Deer Judo Club finally has a permanent home.

After moving between 16 homes in its 50 year existence, the club now has a forever home on Petrolia Drive on the east side of Gasoline Alley.

Dojo Assistant Cobralin Brochu who was working extra hard to put together a grand opening event Thursday night says it’s just awesome.

“I’ve been with the judo club for 20 years and we’ve never had a permanent building, so to have our own sign out front is pretty amazing and with that we can adjust our class schedule so we can have more people into the club,” she says.

She says in the past, they’ve shared buildings with everything from tai chi to jazzercise.

“Now we can actually put some posters on the wall.”
