It's been a long time between games for Reese Johnson.

The fiesty Red Deer Rebels winger missed all of last season following surgery on his right shoulder in October.

This after he already missed half the prior season with a left shoulder ailment.

In all he has been limited to 48 regular season and six playoff games over three seasons.

Hopefully, for he and the Rebels, Johnson's injury troubles are a thing of the past.

The 19-year-old Saskatoon native will be given every opportunity to provide leadership for a team that will feature an all-new looking group of forwards in 2017-18.

The Rebels are in Kennewick, Washington for preseason games Friday versus Tri-City and Saturday versus Portland.
