Red Deer RCMP investigating north end carjacking

RED DEER- RCMP looking for public assistance to identify two suspects in a carjacking that happened in the Normandeau neighbourhood the night of September 5, and are releasing composite sketches of both men.

A woman was standing at her parked vehicle on Nash Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. on September 5 when she witnessed two men crash a red Ford Escape into the side of a nearby building.

The suspects then approached the woman, wielding a machete, demanded her car keys, and sped away in her white Volkswagen Jetta.

Suspect #1 (driver) is described as:

•         Aboriginal

•         Short, messy black hair

•         Thin build

•         5’4” tall

•         In his 20s

•         Wearing gloves, a baggy dark-coloured sweater and jeans

•         Carried a machete

Suspect #2 (passenger) is described as:

•         Caucasian

•         Clean-shaven

•         5’6” tall

•         Thin build

•         Approximately 20 years old

•         Wearing a grey sweater and jeans
