Red Deer man wins $100,000

It’s a good thing he checked his ticket.

Brian Evanoff says he was was on his way home from Regina when remembered he had a LOTTO 6/49 ticket to check.

The Red Deerian soon discovered he won $100,000 on the June 28 EXTRA draw.

“I was cleaning out my travel backpack and found a ticket to check,” he said. “I had to scan the ticket a few times to count out all of the zeros.”

The happy winner said he has a couple things in mind for his winnings.

“I need new glasses,” he said. “I’m also thinking about taking a Christmas vacation with my family.”

Evanoff purchased his winning ticket at Fas Gas station in Regina.
