Candidates vying for the leadership of Alberta’s newly-created United Conservative Party will gather in Springbrook next month.

The Central Alberta Regional Group has announced it is hosting the United Conservative Leadership Town Hall meeting on September 9 at the Springbrook Recreation Centre.  Doors open at noon with the event getting underway at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

In a release, the Central Alberta Regional Group describes itself is a nonpartisan citizens’ group dedicated to promoting conservative values.

Event organizers say the public will be invited to submit questions for the candidates to a moderator. The leadership candidates will answer questions from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. in a formal debate setting after which they will be available to meet with the public.
