Three men in custody after lengthy RCMP pursuit

Aug 24, 2017 | 1:18 PM

Three men face several charges after a lengthy incident which started with a firearms disturbance at a residence, followed by a pursuit, a robbery then another pursuit.

On August 20, police say several males brandished firearms and threatened occupants at a residence on the Sunchild First Nation, then left in a vehicle.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded and located the suspected vehicle as it fled north of the reserve. While pursuing the vehicle, RCMP say it rammed into the police vehicle, then fled the scene with the occupants trying to steal another vehicle in the process.

A short while later the suspects rolled their vehicle into the ditch but were not injured. A woman in another vehicle stopped to help the suspects who was then assaulted by them before having her vehicle stolen.

RCMP managed to locate that vehicle on the O’Chiese First Nation, disable it by using a spike belt and then arrested three male occupants without incident.

Neither the suspects or police officers were injured in the incident while the female driver attended the hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

The Edson Integrated Traffic Unit, Drayton Valley RCMP, and Evansburg RCMP aided Rocky Mounties in their pursuit of the suspects.

25-year-old Dallas Bremner and 24 year-old Taylor Bremner have been charged with multiple offences including, Break and Enter, Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Uttering Threats, Flight, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Robbery.

21-year-old Cruz Bigchild has also been charged with numerous offences including, Robbery, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Breach of Probation, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

All three are due back in Rocky court on September 13.
