It was a big day in Rocky Mountain House as the 2017 World Professional Chuckwagon Association season wrapped up Sunday afternoon.

Chuckwagon Legend Kelly Sutherland was making his last run of his 50 year career, and there was a lot on the line on day 4 of the Battle of the Rockies where two world champions would be declared, as well as the 2017 Battle of the Rockies Championship.

Kurt Bensmiller won his second career World Chuckwagon Championship by 163.5 points over John Walters. Layne MacGillivray had his best overall finish in the World Standings placing third, two-time World Champion Rick Fraser was fourth and Logan Gorst placed fifth. Casey Knight captured his first career World Outriding title.

In the chase for the season-ending Battle of the Rockies championship, Dustin Gorst, driving the Blackjack Livestock Ltd. outfit, and outriders Casey Knight and Quaid Tournier had the run they needed to emerge as champions.
