Brazeau County Council has moved forward the paving of Range Road 65 from Highway 39 to Township Road 494, from construction pegged to start next year to start this fall.

2017’s scheduled capital works for Range Road 65 have been on track to be completed by this month, helping to move along the decision to pave this year instead of waiting until 2018.

Hundreds of vehicles travel on the road per day according to the county, which warrants paving to be considered. Paving will also improve road conditions and eliminate excess dust due to hauling operations.

The estimated cost of the paving is $3 million dollars, with nearly $2 million coming from the Road Restricted Surplus and the remaining from Municipal Sustainability Initiative grant funding.

The work is scheduled to be completed by September or October.
