CALGARY- The president of the Calgary Stampede says this year's edition of what's billed as the greatest outdoor show on Earth was one of the best ever.
Dave Sibbald says organizers are thrilled with the attendance, which jumped well over the one-point-two million mark for the week.
Officials say hot, sunny weather, Canada 150 celebrations and multiple discount days helped boost the numbers.
Wet weather and cool temperatures during last year's Stampede resulted in a seven-per-cent drop in attendance from the year before.
