Hospitals’ Lottery issues plea for support, ticket deadline extended
RED DEER- Officials with the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation’s Hospitals’ Lottery have extended the ticket deadline to June 28, in an attempt to sell out the Lottery.
“Each year we work to create something new and exciting for our purchasers, and this year is no exception, but ticket sales are lagging and we are anxious for a sell out,” says Alaine Martin, Events Manager.
Funds raised this year will be used to purchase new technology patient beds at the hospital, beds that are desperately needed according to officials.
In 2015, the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre was at over capacity 233 days out of 365, meaning 64% of the time there were no available beds in rooms, resulting in some patients being placed in overflow areas.
