Storm creates some damage in Town and County

Jun 9, 2017 | 10:31 AM

Clearwater Regional Fire and Rescue Services, Rocky REA, RCMP and Fortis Alberta were kept very busy during yesterday’s hectic storm.

According to Fire Chief Steven Debienne, crews responded to nine different electrical hazards, five in town and four in the county.

The electrical hazards were caused by trees falling on powerlines as well as power poles and powerlines being knocked to the ground due to gusting winds.

Debienne adds that some people were without power, but Fortis Alberta and Rocky REA were working diligently to get lines back up and running for residents.
