Lacombe Police reporting rash of shed and garage thefts

An increase in shed and garage thefts in Lacombe is acting as a reminder to properly secure your property.

Lacombe Police Service says the thefts are occurring all around the city and during different times of day and night.

In some cases, large items are being stolen, which police add indicates a vehicle is likely involved in committing some of the offenses.

Police are asking residents to ensure garage and shed doors are locked, and suggest using motion detector lighting. Citizens are also asked to be extra vigilant and immediately report any suspicious persons, vehicles or unusual activity to police.

Anyone with information on recent thefts in the city should call LPS at 403-782-3279, or 911 if they are witnessing a crime in progress.
