RED DEER - The final number is in for this year's Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off.

Over $750,000 was raised and the money will be split between two Red Deer charities, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre.

"When we decided to ask two charities to partner for the 2017 Dance Off, we could not fully envision the power of such a partnership," says Co-chair Christine Moore.

The dancers alone raised an unprecedented amount of nearly $515,000.

"On behalf of the organizers, I wish to extend our gratitude to our corporate sponsors, individual donors, our dancers, volunteers and partners and to the over 1000 people who attended the event," Moore adds.

Red Deer RCMP recent arrests include numerous stolen vehicles and stolen credit cards
