MASKWACIS - RCMP have identified the victim of a homicide last month at the Samson Cree Nation.

Police were called just before 2 a.m. to a disturbance at a home on the townsite in which three men were injured.

One of them, 18-year-old Lynden Thom of Maskwacis, later died from his injuries.

An autopsy the following day determined Thom’s death to be homicide.

“The police investigation into this murder is ongoing and the Maskwacis RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public in this case,” Cpl. Hal Turnbull, RCMP, “K” Division, says in a release.

Anyone who may have information is asked to call Maskwacis RCMP Detachment at 780-585-3767, or Crime Stoppers.
