STETTLER- Fire service response from the Village of Donalda Regional Station has temporarily been suspended until a sufficient number of volunteers are recruited and trained.

Stettler Regional Fire Station 1 will continue to maintain fire service in the Donalda region.

Volunteer numbers have steadily decreased over the past number of years.

Currently the Donalda Fire Station has four volunteer members to respond to emergency calls.

A minimum number of 12 is recommended and 15 is the preferred number of volunteers required to efficiently operate a fire station.

Regional Fire Chief Mark Dennis says they will try to have at least 12 fully trained volunteers in place to re-instate and safely operate the Donalda Fire Station.
