Brett Day – RDC Women’s Curling
Hometown – Kyle, Saskatchewan
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2nd year)
Brett played a significant role in the RDC Women’s Curling team’s gold medal victory at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Curling National Championships in Camrose this past weekend. After the women’s team finished the round robin with a 4-3 record, they elevated their game in the playoffs. In the semi-finals, the Red Deer College Queens defeated the top seeded Fanshawe Falcons 7-5. The RDC women won 7-6 over the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) gold medal winning Concordia team to claim national gold. Brett was named the CCAA Women’s Curling All-Star Second.
Ryan Dahmer – RDC Men’s Curling
Hometown – Halkirk, AB
Bachelor of Business Administration (4th year)
Ryan helped lead the RDC Men’s Curling team to a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) bronze medal at the Rose City Curling Club in Camrose this past Saturday. The Kings finished the round robin in 1st place at the national championships with an impressive 6-1 record. After dropping their semi-final matchup against the Mohawk Mountaineers, the RDC men rebounded and soundly defeated the Humber Hawks 10-3 to claim national bronze. Ryan was named the CCAA Men’s Curling All-Star Skip.
