Queens Curling wins National Championship

Red Deer College will soon have another Championship banner to hang up in the rafters, as the Queens Curling team won the CCAA National Title this weekend.  

The Queens battled the Concordia Thunder right up to the last rock take out, to edge the Thunder by a score of 7-6.

The RDC Kings also took home some hardware, this time they claimed a bronze medal after sweeping the Humber Hawks 10-3 in the medal match.

Meanwhile, Queens Second Brett Day and Kings Skip Ryan Dahmer were recognized as CCAA All Stars in their positions.  RDC Queebs coach Brad Hamilton was also recognized as CCAA Coach of the Year.
