A Red Deer College goaltender has earned herself one of the season's top honours.

Tracie Kikuchi, who minds the net for the RDC Queens, was named to the ACAC's women's hockey Academic All-Canadian squad this week.

"These athletes have achieved the highest success in both athletics and academics by being named to an ACAC All-Conference team as well as achieving academic honours standing at their respective institution," a release states.

Other athletes joining Kikuchi on the Academic All-Canadian team are MacEwan goalie Sandy Heim and MacEwan blueliner Nikki Reimer, as well as SAIT's Cora Sutton.

This season, Kikuchi posted a 1.87 GAA, only allowing 25 goals over 14 games. She also recorded a .937 SV%.
