The City of Red Deer is letting residents know crews are hard at work to clear storm drains.

A lot of snow has melted this week due to record temperatures, thus causing large pools of water in some places.

"Right now, we are focusing on clearing snow and ice from storm drains an an effort to proactively reduce the potential for on-street ponding in the event that we see warmer temperatUres and greater melting," says Greg Sikora, Public Works Manager.

He adds sanders continue to hit the roads each day to break down leftover ice.

Citizens are encouraged to call Public Works to notify them of problem areas at 403-342-8238. You can also do so by using the City's Report a Problem tool.
