It’s a big day in our province as Garth Brooks kicks off his string of nine sold out shows in Edmonton.

For a lot of fans, including many here in central Alberta, it will be their first visit to the brand new Rogers Place arena. Here are some things you should know before heading to your show:

- With there being two shows each day this weekend, you will probably want to either take public transit to the arena or book your parking spot in advance

- Fans looking to grab a bite to eat before the show can do so at the rink at the Molson Canadian Hockey House, which is being transformed into the Coors Banquet Saloon while Garth is in town

- Doors at Rogers Place will open 90 minutes before show time (ex. 6 p.m. for tonight’s 7:30 show)

Rogers Place has a mobile app available with all the pertinent information you need to know. You can also visit the Rogers Place website for more details

Otherwise, let the thunder roll and have a great time!
