Apr 6, 2019 | 1:37 PM

The leaders are busy on what is the penultimate Saturday of the 2019 Election Campaign.

NDP leader Rachel Notley is taking part in three leader’s events in Fairview, Peace River and Slave Lake.

David Khan of the Alberta Liberals is spending the day in Calgary making calls and door-knocking before heading to a Celebration of Diversity event for newcomers tonight in Fort Calgary.

Stephen Mandel of the Alberta Party is also door-knocking in Edmonton-Southwest with candidate Mo Elsalhy.

Meanwhile, Freedom Conservative Party leader Derek Fildebrandt announced his party’s platform on Saturday.

It presents a $1.9 billion surplus by 2022/23, elimination of the carbon tax and small business tax, and reductions to a flat 10% for both the income tax and corporate tax.

The FCP would also eliminate the beer tax.

UCP leader Jason Kenney spent the morning meeting with candidates in Calgary.

More details on party announcements will be shared here and on our 2019 Alberta Election page when they become available.
